Organic fluorine compounds PFAS are the general name for perfluoroalkyl compounds and polyfluoroalkyl compounds and are used in materials that require flame retardancy. On the other hand, in recent years, due to concerns about its impact on environmental pollution and human health, many domestic and foreign governments have considered introducing restrictive policies.
XANTA™
The XF series achieves high flame retardancy without using PFAS at all by adopting newly developed flame retardant technology. In the flame retardancy evaluation of Mitsubishi Chemical Group, it was confirmed that it has High flame retardancy equivalent to UL94 standard V-0. Since components can be made ultra-thin, it helps to reduce the weight and save space of information electronic equipment. In addition, it can be used in various fields due to its high transparency, color rendering, surface hardness (pencil hardness: H), and heat resistance (glass transition temperature: 163°C).
In order to strengthen and develop the engineering plastics business, the Mitsubishi Chemical Group absorbed the high value-added polycarbonate resin “XANTAR™” business on April 3, 2023.
