Calculate the theoretical equivalent amount of isocyanate required for cross-linking. Taking Basonat® HI100 and Macrynal® SM 636 as examples, the calculation formula is as follows: 0.075 ×[ OH value] × [solid content of hydroxyl resin]/ [NCO] For example: Macrynal® SM 636 Solid content % of hydroxyl resin 70 OH value 135 Basonat® HI 100, NCO% 22 0.075 ×70 ×135/22=32.2 Amount of hardener required for 100 grams of Macrynal® SM 636: Basonat® HI 100 32.2 gram Basonat® HI 190 B/S 35.8 gram It must be noted that any solvents, pigments and other additives in the formula do not contain active hydroxyl groups, such as water. Safety Tips Description Description

Basonat® HI series can be used to formulate coatings with high light and weather resistance. Basonat® HI 190 B/S is a solution of Basonat® HI 100. Basonat® HI series may be incompatible with certain polyester resins containing hydroxyl groups. Basonat® HI 100 is solvent-free and allows a wide choice of solvents in the application. For example, when used in furniture coatings, slow-evaporating solvents may affect the dryness of the paint. In this case, fast-evaporating solvents can be used. Test results show that in most cases, the gloss retention of the Basonat® HI series is better than that of biuret isocyanates (Basonat® HB series). The Basonat® HI series has a lower viscosity than the Basonat® HB series, making it more suitable for solvent-free coatings.
Basonat® HI series contains trace amounts of hexamethylene diisocyanate, which are reactive and functional isocyanates, so sufficient amounts are required in the application. Safeguard. They are intended for industrial and professional use only and are not suitable for DIY operations. When using these products, the information and recommendations in the product safety data sheet should be consulted in advance.
