On December 17, two sets of compressor units for unit 12 of the Lianyungang POSM unit were put in place. So far, all the POSM unit units have been put in place.
This hoisting involves two sets of units with a total of 8 individual pieces of equipment, which arrived separately, with the heaviest unit weighing 32 tons; the hoisting operation area is small, and the positioning accuracy is required to be high. Due to site constraints, the temporary storage point of some individual equipment is too far from the lifting point, which increases the difficulty of completing all installation tasks in a single day. In order to ensure that the hoisting operation is carried out safely and orderly, the Lianyungang Mechanical and Electrical Team arranged personnel to survey the route and clear roadblocks in advance, and adopted the crane’s “feeding” working method. Two “ants” worked together to achieve accurate placement of equipment within 40 meters. The team members worked quickly and cooperatively to successfully complete the precise assembly of the unit body and base, and the POSM units were all in place.
Jiangsu Hongwei POSM and polyol project
On July 18, 2022, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Xuwei New District, Lianyungang plans to make an approval decision on the environmental impact assessment document of the POSM and polyol project of Jiangsu Hongwei Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jiangsu Hongwei”).

508,000 tons/year ethylbenzene unit, a 200,000/450,000 tons/year POSM unit, a 112,500 tons/year PPG unit, and a 25,000 tons/year POP unit

Main product processes: The POSM unit adopts the co-oxidation propylene oxide co-production styrene technology transferred by Spanish REPSOL company; the ethylbenzene unit mainly adopts Lummus Technology

The project uses the ethylene, propylene and benzene from the Shenghong Refining and Chemical Integrated Project for deep processing, produces propylene oxide and styrene through the co-oxidation method, and further produces polyether polyol and polymer polyol products, extending the refining and chemical industry chain and in line with Lianyungang petrochemical industry base industrial chain development needs.
After the completion of this project, Dongfang Shenghong’s propylene industry will form the “propylene-acrylonitrile” propylene industry chain of Sierbon Petrochemical, and the “propylene-phenol/acetone” industrial chain of Shenghong Refining + “propylene-propylene oxide- “Polyether polyol” propylene industry chain.
