Properties and stability
1. Non-hygroscopic, good slipperiness, can improve the dispersion effect of pigments and dyes, and has lubricity and demoulding properties.
2. This product is white or light yellow and fades.Powder. After recrystallization in ethanol, it becomes colorless leaf-like crystals. Soluble in hot ethanol, chloroform, ether, insoluble in cold ethanol, insoluble in water. The lubricity is lower than grease and the durability is shorter. Thermal stability is poor and there is initial coloration. Combining with a small amount of higher alcohol (C16-18) can overcome the above shortcomings.
Storage method
Woven bag packaging lined with plastic bags. Store in a cool, ventilated and dry place, protected from moisture and sun.
Synthesis method
1. Put 1 mol of stearic acid into the reaction kettle and heat to melt. Continue to raise the temperature to 200°C with stirring, and begin to introduce ammonia gas. Ammonia gas is introduced from the bottom of the kettle to speed up the stirring speed and strengthen the contact between gas and liquid. By-product water and unreacted ammonia enter the recovery device through the condensation system. When ammonia gas is introduced which is twice the mass fraction of stearic acid, take a gas sample and check. If the gas no longer contains water, the reaction has reached the end point. Stop passing ammonia and discharge the material while it is hot for processing and shaping. Dissolve it in ethanol, add activated carbon to decolorize it, filter it while it’s hot, cool it for crystallization, wash the crystals with water, and dry them to get the pure product.
Purpose
1. It can be used as a lubricant and release agent in the processing of plastics such as polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, urea-formaldehyde resin, etc. It has excellent external lubrication effect and release performance, and has good transparency and electrical insulation, but Poor stability. It can also be used as a slip agent for polyolefin plastics, an anti-adhesive agent for films, an internal lubricant for natural and synthetic rubber, and a waterproof softener for fibers. When used in rubber processing, it can improve the processability of the rubber compound, improve the dispersion effect of various additives, and give the product a good gloss. 2. This product can also be used as a slip agent for polyolefins, an anti-adhesive agent for films, and a compounding agent for inks and colored crayons.
