It is soluble in most organic solvents such as ether, ethanol, benzene, acetone, and chloroform, and is slightly soluble in water. Vinyl acetate has the advantages of flammability, good thermal stability, and low temperature resistance. As an important organic chemical raw material, it is widely used in synthetic fibers, industrial production, food processing, medicine and other fields.

Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam are my country’s main exporters of vinyl acetate.

Vinyl acetate is widely used in synthetic fibers, industrial production, food processing, medicine and other fields. In the field of synthetic fibers, vinyl acetate can be used to produce acetate fiber; in the pharmaceutical field, vinyl acetate can be used to produce amino acid drugs, steroid drugs, and anesthetics. Benefiting from the accelerated development of downstream industries, my country’s vinyl acetate market demand continues to grow. In 2022, my country’s demand for vinyl acetate will reach 2.167 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%.

In terms of market competition, my country’s vinyl acetate industry is highly concentrated, with Sinochem Great Wall, Chuanwei Chemical, and Mengwei Technology being the leading companies in my country. Chuanwei Chemical is a subsidiary of Sinopec, focusing on the research and development, production and sales of various fine chemicals. From January to April 2023, the company’s vinyl acetate export volume increased by nearly 200% year-on-year, setting a record high.

          Industry analysts said that vinyl acetate has the advantages of good thermal stability and low temperature resistance, and has broad application prospects in many fields. In recent years, benefiting from technological progress, my country’s vinyl acetate industry has accelerated its development, and its products are exported to many overseas countries. In the future, as research continues to deepen, the application scope of vinyl acetate will be further expanded, and its market demand will continue to grow.
