Features /app
Desmodur® N3200 is mainly used as a curing agent for the preparation of lightfast two-component polyurethane coatings, which have excellent chemical and weather resistance, excellent gloss retention and Mechanical properties, the main co-reactants used are polyacrylate resins or polyester polyols. Coatings based on Desmodur® N3200 are mainly used as self-drying and baking varnishes for automotive and industrial finishing, such as wood, furniture as well as plastic and corrosion protection. Due to its low viscosity, Desmodur® N3200 is also particularly suitable for high solids and coating systems such as floor coatings.
Phase Capacitance
Generally, Desmodur® N3200 can be mixed with the following products, aliphatic polyisocyanate, such as Desmodur® N100, N75, ultraN3300, N3400, N3600 and Z4470; aromatic polyisocyanate, such as Desmodur ® L/ultraL, HL and IL/ultraIL; polyester polyols, such as Desmophen® 651, 670; polyacrylic resins, such as Desmophen® A series products; polyether polyols, such as Desmophen® 1380BT. However, mixtures should always be tested for compatibility before use.
dissolve Sexuality/Dilution
Desmodur® N3200 can be diluted with esters, ketones and aromatic hydrocarbons, such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate; acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl iso Butyl ketone, cyclohexanone; toluene, xylene, No. 100 mineral spirits or their mixtures.
In general, Desmodur® N3200 has good compatibility with the above solvents, but the stability of the prepared solution still needs to be tested. Use only urethane grade solvents (less than 0.05% moisture, solvents that do not contain reactive groups that react with this product, such as hydroxyl or amino groups). Aliphatic hydrocarbons are not suitable as solvents.
Desmodur® N3200 should not be diluted below 40% solids. Long-term storage of low solids solutions may result in turbidity and precipitation.
Save
– Store in original Covestro airtight container.
– Recommended storage temperature: 5-25°C.
– Protect from moisture, heat and foreign substances.
General Information: This product is moisture sensitive. Storage in high temperature environment will make the color of the product darker and the viscosity will increase. Storage at low temperatures can cause solidification. This solidification is reversible by brief heating without affecting the quality of the product.
Save Time
Covestro declares that, provided that the product has been stored in full compliance with the requirements set out in the “Storage” clause above and has been properly handled, the product has been shipped from the date of shipment stated on the transport document Compliance with the specifications or characteristic values stated in the above clause “Specification or characteristic values” (as applicable) within 6 months. If the product exceeds the above-mentioned 6-month period, it does not mean that it no longer meets the set values in the specifications or characteristic values. However, Covestro recommends that products older than 6 months from the shipping date be tested before use to confirm that they still comply with the values set in the specifications or characteristic values. Covestro makes no promises and accepts no responsibility or liability for non-conformity to specifications or set values in characteristic values for products older than 6 months from the date of shipment.
Security
Product data sheets are only valid in conjunction with their corresponding, most current safety data sheets. Any updates to safety-related information – as required by regulation – will only be reflected in the Safety Data Sheet, copies of which will be revised and distributed accordingly. For relevant information, including up-to-date classification and labelling, applications, handling methods and further safety-related data, please refer to the currently valid Safety Data Sheet.
Additional Information
This product is mainly used as a hardener or adhesive for coating materials. Handling of polyisocyanates containing reactive coating materials or adhesives and residual monomeric HDI requires appropriate protective measures as mentioned in the Safety Data Sheet. Therefore, these products may only be used in industrial or trade applications. They are not suitable for use in home (DIY) applications.
