Solubility/Dilution  
Desmodur® N 3600 can be used with esters, ketones and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents such as: ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methoxypropyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene , xylene, 100# naphtha solvent and their mixtures, etc. for dilution. Generally has good miscibility with the above solvents. However, the resulting solution must be tested for storage stability. Polyurethane grade solvents should be used (water content less than 0.05 %, no reactive groups such as hydroxyl or amino groups). Aliphatic hydrocarbons are not suitable as solvents.
After dilution, the solid content of Desmodur® N 3600 shall not be less than 40%. Solutions with low base content will appear turbid and precipitated after long-term storage.

Compatibility                                                                 Desmodur® N 3600 can generally be mixed with the following products. Namely: Desmodur® N 100, N 75, N 3200, N 3300, N 3400, N 3600 and Desmodur® Z 4470 aliphatic polyisocyanates; Desmodur® L, HL and IL aromatic polyisocyanates; Desmophen® 670 polyisocyanates Ester polyols; Desmophen® Class A polyacrylates. However, the miscibility of the prepared solution must be tested.

Desmodur® N 3600 is not miscible with branched polyester polyols such as Desmophen® 651 or polyether polyols such as Desmophen® 1380 BT.

Features/Applications                                         Desmodur® N 3600 is mainly used as a curing agent for light-resistant two-component polyurethane coatings. The prepared coatings have strong chemical resistance and weather resistance, excellent gloss retention and excellent mechanical properties. The best co-reactants are polyacrylates or polyester polyols.
The main areas of application for self-drying and forced-drying coating systems based on Desmodur® N 3600 are automotive OEM paints, automotive refinish paints, other vehicle paints, industrial paints and plastic paints.
Because of its low viscosity, it is particularly suitable for preparing high-solid coatings and can also be used as a curing agent for water-based polyurethane coatings.

Save                                                                 Desmodur® N 3600 is sensitive to moisture and should therefore be stored in the original, sealed container. This product has a shelf life of at least 6 months when stored properly at room temperature.
