Properties and stability

1. This product is unstable, flammable and easy to decompose. Avoid contact with strong oxidants, strong acids, and strong alkali.

Viscous liquid, hygroscopic. Soluble in water and most organic solvents.

Dew can absorb moisture and carbon dioxide when placed in the air. Alkaline. It decomposes when heated to release ethylenediamine and diethylenetriamine. It reacts with acid to form the corresponding salt. Combustible and toxic. It is a strongly alkaline and corrosive liquid. Direct contact with human body should be avoided. Chemical properties are strongly alkaline. Chemical properties are similar to diethylenetriamine. Ethylenediamine and diethylenetriamine are generated during pyrolysis

2.This product is a strongly alkaline and corrosive liquid. It can irritate the skin and mucous membranes and cause skin allergies and bronchial asthma. Long-term exposure can cause leukopenia, lower blood pressure, bronchiectasis, etc. Oral LD503.99g/kg. Direct contact with the human body should be avoided. If it splashes on the skin, rinse it quickly with water or boric acid solution, and then apply boric acid ointment. If poisoning is discovered, you should leave the scene immediately, breathe fresh air or be sent to the hospital for treatment.

Storage method

Stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. They should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, alkalis, and food chemicals, and avoid mixed storage. Equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. The storage area should be equipped with emergency release equipment and suitable containment materials. It should be transported by covered car or train.

2. This product is packed in 0.5kg glass bottles, 5kg polyethylene plastic drums and 200kg iron drums. This product should be stored in a sealed store, and the storage location should be ventilated, moisture-proof, heat-proof, and isolated from acids. It is advisable to use covered cars or trains for transportation, and handle according to “Railway Danger Regulation No. 96009”.

Synthesis method

This product is a co-product of ethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine, and polyethylenepolyamine. For production principles and operations, please refer to ethylenediamine. However, the temperature of the ammonolysis reaction needs to be 160 to 250°C, and the pressure should be above 4.0MPa. Distill the crude polyamine product under reduced pressure, collect the fractions at 160-210°C under a pressure of 1.3kPa, and obtain the finished product of tetraethylpentamine after cooling.

Refining method: Dehydrate with metallic sodium or anhydrous calcium sulfate and then fractionate under reduced pressure. You can also dissolve 150g of tetraethylenepentamine in 300mL of 95% ethanol, and gradually drop in 180mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid while cooling, keeping the temperature below 20°C. Filter out the white precipitate, recrystallize it three times with a mixture of ethanol and water, wash with ether, and dry under vacuum to obtain pure tetraethylenepentamine hydrochloride.

Purpose

1. Used to synthesize polyamide resin, cation exchange resin, lubricating oil additives, fuel oil additives, etc. It can also be used as epoxy resin curing agent, rubber vulcanization accelerator, etc. It is also used in synthetic resins and as additives, curing agents, accelerators, etc. This product is an epoxy resin curing agent with high activity and low viscosity. It is suitable for room temperature curing and rapid curing of epoxy resin products. It can also be used as a vulcanizing agent for fluorine rubber and used in industrial rubber products. It is also used as a lubricant, fuel oil, additive for cyanide-free electroplating, and as a synthetic raw material for polyamide resin and anion exchange resin. In addition, this product also has important uses in the military industry.

2.Used as a room temperature curing agent for epoxy resin, the reference dosage is 14 to 15 parts (mass parts). Curing conditions: room temperature/2d or 100℃/30min. The thermal deformation temperature of the cured product is 95~115℃. It is also used as a solvent for sulfur, resins, dyes and organic synthesis intermediates. Used to make polyamide resins, anion exchange resins and polymerization catalysts. It is also used as rubber vulcanization accelerator, acid gas absorbent, lubricating oil and fuel additive, crude oil demulsifier, saponification agent, hardener, cyanide-free electroplating additive and preparation of insulating coatings, etc.
